Gasiglia

Julie Sjöfn Gasiglia is a French artist based in Iceland whose practice explores narratives that interlace humans with the more-than-human world—the relationships that surround us and the ecosystems that dwell within our own bodies. Her work is an ongoing inquiry into what it means to be human on this planet.
She holds an MFA from the Iceland University of the Arts. Working across sculpture, sound, video, and photography, Gasiglia’s multidisciplinary approach reflects the diversity of her background and her continuing exploration of transformation, coexistence, and the porous boundaries between species.
Alongside her practice she is also managing and teaching in the photography lab at the Icelandic University of the Arts.
